...and my kids.
Today I began a four day conference in Greenville, North Carolina, at the North Carolina Fire And Life Safety Educators Conference. Here, they are teaching us how to teach. It's a long weekend of classes, and an even longer time away from Megan, Jonah, Josh and Eli. I have wanted to take this class for a very long time, and I could not pass up the opportunity to take it.
What I wish I could pass up is the guilt.
My poor wife (who may not be my wife when I return, and rightfully so) is at home with three young boys, ages 2, 5 and 7. To call her overwhelmed would be an understatement. I need this class, I want this class, but I need my family, and I want to be with them.
I am conflicted.
So, I will live with my guilt, and without my family for a few days.
Megan, as always, you have my support, my love and the knowledge that somewhere in eastern North Carolina, your husband is suffering.
Maybe not as bad as you are, but still.
I love you, and I promise, somehow, some way, I will make it up to you.
See you tomorrow. (Not literally, but in an Interweb sort of way.)
