Genetics Are Weird~A decidedly wordy Wednesday post

I'll be the first to admit that I understand only the teensiest tiniest fraction of the information that makes up the field of genetics. Which is to say, I understand almost nothing about it. But I keep looking at my children, who look nothing alike and everything alike and it just confuses me.

For example...these are pictures of each of the boys on the day they were born.

Despite the hair differences, they look remarkably similar.

Now look at each of them at
age 2. Three remarkably different-looking kids.

And yet, people are constantly asking me if Jonah and Josh are twins.  You can see why when you see them like this...

But even Jonah and Eli have some similarities if you compare the right ages...

I don't know...I guess I don't really have much of a point here, except that it's amazing to me that people can be so similar and so different simultaneously.  That there are three children who clearly came from the same genetic place, but diverged so much...sort of.  Because no matter how similar or different they appear to be, when they are together, you can see that they are brothers.
